George Lawson
George Lawson (1749-1820) was for forty-nine years the minister of the Scottish Succession church in Selkirk. He became renowned as a writer, producing commentaries on Proverbs, Ruth, Esther, a Life of Joseph, and this series of lectures on David.
Breaking from the usual biographical format, Lawson focuses on specific traits of David’s character throughout his life which also find expression in the Psalms, showing the parallels with the life of every Christian. This makes for a very engaging and practical book.
