Satan’s existence is attested in nine Old Testament books and by every New Testament writer. In the Old Testament, Satan, meaning adversary or accuser, occurs nineteen times. The word appears to be employed both as a title (the Accuser; Zech. 3:1–2) and as a personal name (Satan; 1 Chron. 21:1; Ps. 109:6). Many of the usages occur in Job 1 and 2.

Satan, Begone! (Eph 4.27)
